Calling with your Apple Watch

Making calls with your Apple Watch is actually very simple. With a few simple steps, you can start, answer, or end a phone call. But before we get into that, we want to clear up a few concerns. You may be hesitant about the sound quality of the Apple Watch . We can reassure you: the sound quality is excellent. Sure, it will never be as good as a phone call from a high-end smartphone , but for a device that sits on your wrist, the sound quality is more than fine. You may also be concerned about the battery life of your Apple Watch while making calls. It's true that making calls uses more energy than some other functions, but there are ways to optimize your battery life. For example, you can reduce the brightness of your screen, close unnecessary apps, and enable 'Airplane Mode' when you're not on a call. Now that you know the sound quality is good and you can optimize your battery life, let's take a look at how to make calls with your Apple Watch.

How does it work?

1. Make sure your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone:

-Make sure your Apple Watch is paired to your iPhone via Bluetooth.- Both the iPhone and Apple Watch must be within Bluetooth range of each other.

2. Open the Phone app on your Apple Watch:

- Press the digital crown on the side of your Apple Watch to go to the app screen.
- Search for the “Phone” app and tap on it to open it.

3. Select a contact or use the dialer:

- You can browse through your contacts list and select the contact you want.
- Alternatively, you can use the dialer by tapping the keyboard icon and entering the phone number.

4. Choose the option to call:

- After selecting the desired contact or entering the number, tap the call button to start the call.

5. Use your Apple Watch during the call:

- Once the call has started, you can use your Apple Watch to adjust the volume, mute the call, or end the call.

- To end the call, tap the red button with the phone icon on the screen.

Keep in mind that Apple Watch can’t make calls on its own; it uses the connection to your iPhone to make calls. Your iPhone also needs to be nearby and turned on to make calls through Apple Watch.

If you have an Apple Watch with cellular connectivity, you can also make calls without your iPhone nearby, but you'll need a separate cellular plan for your Apple Watch to do this.
