Refurbished products are hot. Unfortunately, not all suppliers of refurbished products are equally reliable in delivering quality.
The warranty that leapp gives on refurbished iPhones goes further than the warranty on new devices. The battery and accessories are covered by the standard 24-month warranty of the Keurmerk Refurbished. This is not the case with new iPhones .
The quality mark also has the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.

Business organization Techniek Nederland (formerly Uneto-VNI) is working with leapp and four other companies on a circular economy through the Keurmerk Refurbished. Consumers and companies often say goodbye to their smartphone, tablet or notebook unnecessarily quickly. Consumer electronics manager Rob Wierenga of Techniek Nederland: 'The devices contain rare metals that are partly not recyclable. By giving these devices a second life, we use fewer precious metals and reduce the waste mountain. In this way, we save energy and reduce our CO 2 footprint .'

The quality of second-hand products often raises doubts. However, with the Refurbished Quality Mark we completely remove these concerns. As standard, we offer a two-year warranty on the device, the battery and the accessories.
With the Refurbished Quality Mark, you are assured of a reliable product, equal to the quality of a brand new device. You can find all about this in our warranty conditions . What is special is that you get a standard 24-month warranty, not only on the device, but also on the battery and the accessories supplied. Something you do not get as standard with a brand new iPhone, MacBook, or iPad . So, why would you choose a new device if a refurbished device offers the same certainty?
No iPhone, MacBook or iPad is the same, especially when it comes to refurbished devices. Fortunately, we have now implemented uniform cosmetic gradations. So now there are only three conditions left:
- As good as new: Almost indistinguishable from a new product, technically completely in order.
- Lightly used: Here you will find some light scratches or other signs of use, technically completely in order.
- Visibly used: Here you can expect some visible signs of use such as a dent or scratch in the housing, technically completely in order.
Despite the traces of use that may be on the device, it is technically always in perfect order. So it is purely about the appearance. Read more about the product conditions .
Independent assessment
From now on, you can recognize quality suppliers of Refurbished devices by the Refurbished Quality Mark. This is rigorously checked by TÜV Nederland, an independent certification institute that annually carries out technical audits at the participating companies. This guarantees that all suppliers meet the high requirements of reliability and quality. However, just like with brand new products, an error can occasionally creep in.
In addition, companies with the Refurbished Quality Mark must not only meet strict technical quality requirements, but also strict financial conditions. The EDR Credit Services, a part of DAS, assesses whether the participating companies are financially sound. Each company may only display the Refurbished Quality Mark if it is financially strong enough, which minimizes the risk of (new) bankruptcy. Although this does not guarantee that a company can never go bankrupt, it does offer you as a consumer an extra layer of trust and security.

Techniek Nederland is the business association of the technology sector and represents over 6,300 companies in the installation sector and technical retail trade. With an annual turnover of over 16 billion euros and employment for around 130,000 people, it is an economic and social factor of significance.
